Armed Forces Week begins today, a national opportunity to recognise and express gratitude to the United Kingdom’s Armed Forces, including veterans, reservists and their families.

Flag-Raising Ceremony – Thursday, 26 June

A formal flag-raising ceremony will take place at Stamford Town Hall to honour the Armed Forces community. Members of the public are warmly invited to join in and watch the flag raising.

Location: Town Hall Terrace
Time: 10:00am (attendees are kindly requested to gather from 9:45am)

The short ceremony will be attended by the Mayor of Stamford Councillor Amanda Wheeler, local councillors, representatives from RAF Wittering, and members of the Royal British Legion.

Following the ceremony, the Armed Forces Day flag will remain raised in honour of Armed Forces Day on Saturday, 28 June.
