Stamford Town Council events
There is a busy calendar of events taking place throughout the year, including the Spooktacular Halloween event, the Christmas Lights Switch-on, the Christmas Market, and Carols in St Michael’s Churchyard. This year there are two special commemorative events taking place to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day, including the lighting of the Recreation Ground Beacon on May 8 and a VE Day Celebration Event on May 10 featuring dancing, live music, exhibitions, food stalls, and a funfair. Civic events include the Holocaust Memorial Day service, the Battle of Britain Parade and Service, and The Annual Parade & Service of Remembrance.
Civic & Community Committee
The Civic & Community Committee plays a key role in enhancing community engagement and promoting the services of the Town Council. Responsible for civic and ceremonial events, managing grant allocations, and collaborating with local stakeholders, the Committee actively supports initiatives that strengthen community ties. The Committee works closely with groups organised by Stamford Town Council such as the Youth Council and Tourism Advisory Committee, as well as various outside bodies.
