Running in support of World Mental Health Day

The Mayor of Stamford Councillor Amanda Wheeler has started participating in a series of running events in support of World Mental Health Day, jogging with members of the community and raising awareness of this important campaign.

Yesterday she joined 107 parkrunners at the Rutland Water Junior Park Run in the role of volunteer Tail Walker (the person at the back of the field who ensures all participants finish safely). The Mayor will also be running with other young people in the community later this week.

Her efforts will culminate on World Mental Health Day this Friday with two special running events organised in collaboration with Mindspace Stamford. Members of the community are warmly invited to walk, jog or run with the Mayor while helping raise funds for MindSpace Stamford, one of this year’s Mayoral charities.

The Mayor’s Morning 5K run will take place 9:30am, Stamford Rugby Club, Hambleton Road
